Please note – This show was taped before the coronavirus situation blew-up in the US. Hence, only a short bit of messaging added later at the end of the show reflects that. Thanks and be safe!

On this week’s The NOLADrinks Show with Bryan Dias, we pay a visit to the Southern Food and Beverage Museum in New Orleans – HQ for the National Food and Beverage Foundation. We’re joined by the foundation’s president, Brent Rosen.

NOLADrinks Show – National Food and Beverage Foundation – Southern Food and Beverage Museum – Mar20Ep1

Out of the gate, we let you know what’s up in this week’s show and some other bits.

From there, we’re off to the Southern Food and Beverage Museum (SoFAB) located in the New Orleans neighborhood of Central City. It’s the home of the National Food and Beverage Foundation (NatFAB) and, also, the home of the soon-to-be-launched Nitty Grits Media Podcast Network, of which this show is a charter member!

We’re joined by NatFAB president, Brent Rosen. And, we tape this show in the newly built Nitty Grits Media podcast studio located in the museum itself!

Among many things, Brent lets us know about NatFAB’s history and mission of connecting people with foodways and culinary history be it through SoFAB’s museum holdings, research projects, cooking demos, events, the podcast network, and more. We also chat about the museum itself and all the interesting things you can discover there.

Importantly, we weave in ideas of how food tells an important historical and cultural story about who we are and how we (and what we eat and drink!) connect in physical and emotional ways. Overall, this is the mission of NatFAB, the museum, and the podcast network, as well.

Of course, we let you know how you can visit the museum as well as connect with the various programs and events that NatFAB and SoFAB have to offer.

Brent sticks around for our podcast-only segment – “Another Shot with NOLADrinks” – we were talk about Nitty Grits Media and a lot more on the podcast network. Here, at The NOLADrinks Show, we’re really excited to be an inaugural show on the network and we look forward to sharing more from all it has to offer with you soon!

Cheers, You All!
