On this edition of The NOLADrinks Show with Bryan Dias, we are chatting with our friends, once again, from Turning Tables bringing you our annual show on this amazing organization! They do critical and trailblazing work advocating for equity for black and brown persons in the drinks, bartending, and hospitality industries. We chat with Turning Tables founder, Touré Folkes, program mentors Geoffrey Wilson, Erika Flowers, and Shauntaye Merritt-Williams, and recent externs Rachel Johnson and Thomas Moore.
We discuss the evolution of Turning Tables from a few years ago to the force it has become today garnering national and international recognition for their work. This includes a conversation on how the program has developed and expanded in both the curriculum and experiences they offer to the lives they’ve touched. We also discuss how they are transforming these industries not just in New Orleans, but well beyond!
