On this week’s The NOLADrinks Show with Bryan Dias, we bring you a look at Tales of the Cocktail 2022. We’re joined by the organization’s CEO, Eileen Wayner. We talk about the excitement surrounding the event’s in-person return to New Orleans in July. Also, we discuss some of the challenges faced and adaptations made by Tales over the past two years due to the pandemic. We chat about a few of the themes, structures, and activities you can expect this year along with a whole lot more “Tales” conversation.

As we’ve done in years past, we’re bringing you a preview (sort of a “pre-preview”) of Tales of the Cocktail! Usually, we do this a little closer to the actual event – taking place in New Orleans from July 25-29 this year. But we wanted to give you a glimpse a little earlier, especially now that we know the event returns to being in-person in 2022!

Don’t worry! We’ll be doing another more “traditional” preview show in a few months where we will talk a lot more about particular events, the schedule, how to attend, and more. Tales of the Cocktail Foundation’s CEO, Eileen Wayner, joins us to talk about the event and what we know so far.

We discuss numerous components and topics that will figure prominently in Tales 2022 – their 20th anniversary, by the way! This includes “Beyond the Bar,” a comprehensive program that addresses personal well-being and work-life balance in the bartending and spirits industries. We talk about the importance of continuing the conversation and action on broadening inclusivity in the industry. We touch on the Spirited Awards, the foundation’s education committee, and much, much more!

Importantly, we also chat about the significance of the event to the city of New Orleans. The return of Tales as an in-person event here during July is a critical shot in the arm to the local economy and to so many who make it happen – meaning, those in the hospitality industry!

Cheers and Be Well, You All!
