On this installment of The NOLADrinks Show with Bryan Dias we have a “Bartenders Roundtable.” The idea is, more or less, an open forum for bartenders to talk shop, issues, drinks, and anything else connected to the world of bartending. We welcome Sophie Burton with The Mayhaw at St. Roch Market and Politan Row and Geoffrey Wilson of Turning Tables and Latitude 29. We discuss a host of issues including equity in the hospitality industry, customer behavior during the pandemic, and a whole lot more!

The NOLADrinks Show with Bryan Dias – Bartenders Roundtable – 2021Ep8
We are over at New Orleans’ St. Roch Market for our featured interview. We welcome Sophie Burton, beverage director for Politan Row, the group that owns and operates this food hall located in New Orleans, as well as other locations in the US. As part of her gig, she leads the craft cocktail bar located in the market, The Mayhaw.
Geoffrey Wilson, a bartending and hospitality veteran who cut his chops in Chicago and elsewhere before coming to New Orleans, is with us as well. Geoffrey is one of the leaders and mentors with Turning Tables and works at Latitude 29 in the French Quarter of New Orleans.
We discuss various topics connected to the world of bartending including important conversations on equity, customer behavior during the pandemic (some good and some bad), and much more.
Additionally, we learn about their interesting and varied backgrounds in the hospitality industry. Be sure to catch our extended chat on the podcast-only segment, “Another Shot with NOLADrinks,” where we delve deeper into our topics. Both Sophie and Geoffrey share some critical and interesting ideas and concepts.

If you are in the “biz” or someone who cares about the hospitality industry (hard to imagine if you listen to this show that you don’t!), you will not want to miss this episode. We touch on many things and, to be sure, have some good fun along the way, too!
