On this edition of the NOLADrinks Show with Bryan Dias, we talk with Katie DuBois of Angel’s Envy Bourbon, Lucinda Weed of St. Germain, and Ranh Nuñez of Jägermeister. We discuss working for a brand, some industry trends, and, of course, taste some delicious stuff! We also visit with the organizers of Top Taco NOLA and Agave Week taking place next week here in New Orleans.

NOLADrinks Show – 3-8-18 – Angel’s Envy, Jägermeister, and St. Germain Reps and Top Taco NOLA

We start things off running down today’s show including some notes on next week’s Top Taco NOLA and Agave Week events. We also talk about the oldest known message in a bottle yet found buried in Western Australia with a note preserved in an old Gin (or Genever) bottle. We give a special shout-out to pal, Ruby Bloch, a very talented pastry chef and owner of the new Salt & Light Pastry Co. here in New Orleans, who will be competing on the Food Network’s “Spring Baking Championship” kicking off this Monday evening on that channel!

We then head to Del Fuego Taqueria located on Magazine St. Uptown. We’re joined by Shane Finkelstein and Aaron Nachlas, organizers of the 2^nd Annual Top Taco NOLA and Agave Week taking place this coming week in New Orleans. We also visit with Del Fuego owner, Dave Wright, and bartender, J.D. Lipe.

We talk about Top Taco NOLA, happening at Woldenberg Park next Thursday evening (3/15.) We also discuss the numerous activities also taking place as part of Agave Week, which kicks-off this Sunday (3/11). There are dinners, happy hours, and more – some are even free to attend. One highlight we cover is the industry and “serious” agave enthusiast event, El Tesoro Agave Seminar and Industry Panel Discussion, on Wednesday, March 14 at the Audubon Aquarium. I am honored to have been asked to moderate the panel! We also talk with the guys from Del Fuego about their spot and the Agave Week event they are hosting – a happy hour on Wednesday from 4-7 pm.

Next up, we have our featured interview taped at the N. Rampart St. and French Quarter Bar, Black Penny (thanks, Rhett!). Three friends of the show who are liquor brand representatives here in New Orleans join us. We talk with Katie DuBois of Angel’s Envy, Ranh Nuñez of Jägermeister (we get a sneak preview of their new liqueur – “Manifest”), and Lucinda Weed of St-Germain.

We talk about their brands, working as a rep in the industry, and, of course taste some great stuff! In the first three segments, each guest takes center stage in talking about their brand, their career, and a little taste of what they have to offer! In the last segment, we create a delicious cocktail that brings all three of their products together in one glass! It’s a spin on the Manhattan (nice work, Katie!) that, I believe, we are calling the “NOLADrinks Show.” Is that what we’re calling it?!? Cool…
