It’s the first episode of the New Orleans “Dine, Wine & Spirits Show – NOLADrinks Edition!” We discuss what we plan to do with the show over time and how you can connect with NOLADrinks on the air and online.
Sam Parrie of Cane & Table joins the show and shares a bit about her background and her recent trip to Martinique to explore the island and its rum agricole. We also talk about broader concepts in the world of rum as well as where she works, Cane & Table, located at 1113 Decatur Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Of course, we taste some wonderful rum agricoles that Sam brought in, including a Ti Punch she whipped up (and explains) for us to enjoy!
I am then joined by Katie du Bois of Barrel Proof who has been helping the New Orleans service industry spearhead relief efforts for victims of the Louisiana flood. She lets us know how we can all help and contribute (see more here on Facebook and on our site here.)
