On this edition of The NOLADrinks Show we have our annual French Quarter Fest preview show. We talk about the 36th year of this terrific music festival that also features terrific food, drink, and more! We talk with Rebecca Sell of French Quarter Festivals, Inc., a few of the food vendors, and NOLA.com and Times-Picayune food writer, Ann Maloney.

NOLADrinks Show – 3-11-19 – French Quarter Fest 2019 Preview

We start out the show letting you know a few programming notes and what’s up on this week’s installment.

Next up, we’re at the offices of French Quarter Festivals, Inc. (FQFI) in the French Quarter for our featured interviews. First, we welcome FQFI marketing and communications director and friend of the show, Rebecca Sell. We discuss French Quarter Fest’s music programming, the food and beverage offerings, its economic impact on the city, and much more.

Then, we have a couple rounds of chatting with a handful of the numerous food vendors, all local restaurants and purveyors, about their participating and what it means to them. We talk with Ralph Pausina of Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts, Thuy Le and Loc Nguyen of Sweet Handkraft, Loretta Harrison of Loretta’s Authentic Pralines, and Michael Lavie of Koz’s.

On “Another Shot with NOLADrinks,” our podcast-only portion, we welcome back Rebecca. We’re also joined by NOLA.com and The Times-Picayune food writer, Ann Maloney. We talk more about the festival. Ann shares some of her thoughts not only on the food scene at the event, but also about the event itself. Check out the Facebook group she operates with fellow food writer, Todd Price (who was on the show recently), called “Where NOLA Eats.”
