On this edition of the NOLADrinks Show, we have a great time! We welcome Jenna Sanders of Napa’s Fantesca Estate & Winery talking about the winery. Then, Beau Ciolino and Matt Armato of Probably This stop by. We discuss their very popular food, drink, and lifestyle blog.
NOLADrinks – 01-19-17 – Fantesca Estate and Wine – Probably This
We start things off with a couple notes about upcoming events around New Orleans. One of which is the opening of a production of “Jelly’s Last Jam” at Le Petit Theater in the French Quarter. This musical portrays the life of the important New Orleans Jazzman, Jelly Roll Morton. Though a popular play in times past, strangely it had never been performed here in town. The show debuts on January 27 and runs through February 12.

Jenna Sanders of Fantesca Estate and Winery joins the show. We discuss the story and wines of this interesting Napa Valley Winery located on Spring Mountain. Having worked with NOLADrinks show host, Bryan Dias, in the wine industry before in California, the dialogue is fun and lively. We also talk about some trends in the wine industry, such as direct to consumer sales and why it’s critical to a winery like Fantesca. Of course, we discuss and taste their excellent wines, most of which are made by famed winemaker, Heidi Barrett.
Then the guys from Probably This, a popular drink, food, and lifestyle blog come by. Beau Ciolino and Matt Armato have great timing – they join the wine tasting and chat before we close out with Jenna. We, then, talk about the blog, how the concept came to be, and some of how they go about putting it together. We also talk a bit about Matt and Beau’s story. We taste a couple delicious cocktails that seem just right for the current season here in New Orleans. Yes, it’s winter. But, it has been pretty warm lately!
